Use the provided frames to help students write strong, detailed sentences while learning about adjectives, nouns, and verbs at the same time.

To support students as they get started, three completed examples are included using a snake, cow, and pig. These modeled pages show students how to brainstorm ideas and think through their choices. The remaining pages are blank so students can generate and select their own ideas.

For whole group instruction, begin with a blank frame and invite students to contribute the who, what, where, when, or why. Model how to record their ideas in each box. Then, choose your favorite details together and move to the next set of frames to begin constructing a complete sentence.

Finally, students write their super sentence in the space provided, making sure to start with a capital letter and end with the correct punctuation. A blank page is also included for students to illustrate a picture of the who or what they wrote about.
