Turning independent practice time into a game will keep all your students engaged and ready to work faster and harder than ever before! Virtual Sticker Chart allows all students, no matter the grade level, to earn points for completing their practice. It awards random point values to even out the game for both face paced and slower paced students. The game boards are themed to things students enjoy and are already invested in to help create buy-in.
Download the PowerPoint templates and project the chart on the board. You will need a wireless mouse on a table in front of the board accessible to students. Divide students into 5-6 teams (depending on the game board) and assign each group a color of sticker from the game board. For every problem the ENTIRE group finishes, they send one team member to the board to move their color of sticker to a random column. Each column has a themed character at the bottom to add excitement while students select the column to place their colored sticker. Students continue to do this for the allotted time. At the end of the time, flip the screen to the next PowerPoint slide and reveal the random point values assigned to each column. Some columns are worth positive points, and some columns are worth negative points. Tables total up their points, and the team with the most points wins! Enjoy adapting this fun game to your students' needs and whatever theme excites them!
