 Do your students need to build their knowledge of numbers represented in different ways? This Solve the Room activity will do just that and will give you on the spot data! This activity has two sets of task cards 1 for finger patterns and 1 for ten frames. Movement is very important in primary grades, this activity will have students out of their seats as they explore the room to look for task cards with random finger patterns and ten frames on them to quickly solve.

This is a low prep activity! All you need to do is print the task cards and recording sheets. Hang the cards with finger patterns or ten frames around the room. Explain your expectations for this activity and how to fill out the recording sheet to your students. Then release them to explore and solve the room.

As an extension both of these activities can be used as a center. Place the recording sheet in a plastic sleeve and have students randomly pick the task cards to subitize.
