Kindergarten Magic of Math Unit 13 Instructional Slides: Identify Coins, Financial Literacy, End of the Year Review

About this resource

Wrap up the kindergarten year with clear, visual, and engaging lessons using these Kindergarten Magic of Math Unit 13 Instructional Slides. These slides are designed to pair directly with the Magic of Math Kindergarten Unit 13 printable curriculum, giving you visual support as you introduce, model, and practice each day's math skill.

In this final unit, students learn to identify coins and explore early financial literacy, then spend a week reviewing the big skills of kindergarten math as they get ready for 1st grade.

What the Instructional Slides Cover

Week 1: Money and Financial Literacy
Students identify pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters by name and value, distinguish between needs and wants, learn how people earn income through jobs and match jobs to skills, and review coins, needs and wants, jobs and skills, and income and gifts.

Week 2: End of the Year Review
Students review addition and subtraction within 10, teen numbers as tens and ones, comparing numbers to identify greater and less, and identifying, describing, and sorting 2D and 3D shapes.

Each day follows the same simple flow: a mini-lesson to introduce and model the skill, an activity slide with student materials and step-by-step directions, and a practice slide for independent work.

Designed to Pair with the Printable Unit

These instructional slides are a companion to Kindergarten Magic of Math Unit 13. They are designed to support the daily mini-lessons and activities included in the printable curriculum rather than replace the full unit.

Use the slides to introduce skills, model mathematical thinking, guide class discussions, and provide visual support before students move into the hands-on activities and independent practice included in Magic of Math.
