About this resource

Give students a playful way to review larger numbers with this Pin the Nose on the Clown activity! Students read a place value or rounding clue, determine the number it describes, and place the matching number “nose” on the clown.

The clues require students to think carefully about digit values, number forms, comparisons, and rounded values.

Students will practice:

Identifying numbers from written clues
Understanding the value of digits in larger numbers
Comparing whole numbers
Recognizing numbers in different forms
Rounding numbers to a given place
Connecting rounded values to the original number
Applying place value reasoning
