About this resource

Practice matching numerals and quantities with this playful Pin the Nose on the Clown activity! Students select a numeral card and match it to the ten frame that represents the same number. Once they find the correct match, they can place the numeral “nose” on the clown.

This hands-on math game can be used during a number celebration, as a whole-group activity, in a math center, or for small-group number sense practice.

Students will practice:

Recognizing numerals
Counting objects in ten frames
Matching numerals to quantities
Building number sense
Working with numbers to 30

Choose the cards that fit your students’ current number range. The activity works well for kindergarten and first-grade practice with numbers to 20, with additional numbers included for students who are ready to work beyond 20.
