Help students recognize what makes a complete sentence with this Am I a Sentence? Thumbs Up and Down Activity! This simple printable gives beginning readers a clear, hands-on way to tell the difference between a complete sentence and a group of words.
Students read six short examples, each paired with a picture. If the words make a complete sentence, they color the thumbs up. If not, they color the thumbs down. The mix of sentences and phrases helps students notice capital letters, end punctuation, and whether the words share a complete thought.
