Make fractions visual and meaningful with this Apple Seed Fractions Activity! Students create their own apple fraction model by coloring the seeds to represent different fractional parts, then identify and record the fractions they created.

With options for fourths, sixths, and eighths, this hands-on fall math activity makes it easy to differentiate fraction practice while helping students connect fraction models, shaded parts, and written fractions.

How It Works

Students choose an apple divided into fourths, sixths, or eighths. They color the apple seeds using different colors to create fractional parts. After completing their apple, students identify the fraction represented by each color and record their fractions on the included recording sheet.

For example, if 3 out of 6 seeds are one color, students record the fraction 3/6.
