  • Measure weight using nonstandard units

  • Record and explain weight comparisons

Week 3: Capacity

Students build an understanding of capacity as they:

  • Use words such as full, empty, more, and less

  • Compare the capacity of different containers

  • Identify which container holds more or less

  • Make predictions about capacity

  • Explore volume concepts through real-world examples

  • Order containers from least to greatest or greatest to least capacity

  • Explain their thinking using measurement vocabulary
